Hello!
I guess you could say I’m a little late to blogging so let’s rewind, shall we?
October 29th, 2019, the day I got accepted. Ahh, that day was filled with anxiety leading up to my phone call, and tears started rushing down as I heard the words “congratulations you’re accepted!”. Those words meant the most to me because the World Race has been a dream for me. I whole heartily believe that God has perfect timing because around the time I found out about the World Race the Preacher at my church was speaking on our callings and giftings and I was so stuck finding what I was good at, or what God can use me for. Growing up I never had hobbies or played in sports that stuck with me, so that was a definite no. I didn’t have any particular interests except volunteering. I always loved serving at shelters throughout my church and helping in any way I can, so I thought maybe this is it. I didn’t want to jump conclusions and assume that ministry was my calling just because it was what I enjoyed doing. I asked God to show me in some sort of way that this is what he wants me to do. I was scrolling through Instagram one day and one of my friends got accepted into the World Race I thought wow this looks like a dream, so I started researching everything about the World Race. As I read through I just couldn’t help but feel God tugging at my heart telling me that this is his sign. Every detail of the trip, every why behind it stirred my heart. Ever since I saw one Instagram post in my sophomore year of Highschool it has changed my life for the better. That one post changed my perspective on what I wanted to do after High School, and what God had planned for me. Every time someone asked what I wanted to do after I graduate I always responded with “The World Race”, it was always my first and only response. God has the best timing and If it weren’t for the sermon that one Sunday, and that Instagram post I wouldn’t be here right now writing this Blog. In September of 2020, I will be leaving my small town called Gastonia to go to Eswatini, Ethiopia, and Cambodia spreading the Gospel and giving all the love to everyone I can possible. I will show them that with God EVERYTHING is possible, us waking up every day is a small sign that he’s with us. I have already met some of the best people that are on my squad and I am SO excited to see what God has in store for me this upcoming year leading up to the trip, and while being on the trip. Thank you for reading my first of many blogs, If you feel moved in any way to pursue the Race DO IT!, shoot your shot, my blog post could be the reason you fall in love with the World Race. Who knows what God has coming your way in 2020?
Until the next blog!
