Lately, I’ve had thoughts going in every direction. I’m a hot mess, I don’t know what to think or when to think. This blog is long overdue and I’m tired of waiting until I have my life together to write this. I present to you my thoughts and questions, completely unfiltered, and ready to be freed from this cramped space in my head.

How about we start with this global pandemic that has caused fear, and anxiety to millions of people around the world. Fear of catching the virus, Parents not being able to provide for their families, schools closing, seniors losing their last prom and their graduation ceremonies, and their last time playing on a field they love oh so deeply. There’s a huge fear of losing our jobs due to a virus us humans have labeled as deadly, but sure enough, this virus is just as deadly as day to day cases for every individual on this planet. Bullying is deadly, but wait isn’t eating too much deadly? or what about stressing?, I heard that’s deadly too. There is so many different forms of deadly cases humans fight off every single day, but we don’t see any news article about that. We all tend to feed on what we hear, maybe that’s gossip or a rumor, or simply a news report. Just simply doing that can cause so much fear deep down in our hearts, but why fear when we know who is going to protect us at the end of the day? why fear, when you know you’re going to have eternal life after this temporary one you are living in, is over? Fear is a painful feeling, it’s the uncertainty of what’s going to happen next, and the evil part is that it can turn from a split second into a life long feeling. This fear we feel now is going to affect how we live our lives, it’s going to haunt us for years down the road, nothing will be the same. There’s a bible verse that is labeled as “cheesy”, or “basic”, that I would like to share. Isaiah 41:40: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.” If you dig down into the roots of this verse you will not see it as  “simple”, you will see it as words of affirmation God has placed on our hearts. The minute we take our last breath on this earth, those feelings of fear or dismay will vanish in the snap of a finger. We are not meant to spend our lives freaking out about our future, or worrying about the “what-if’s”. God will hold you up high through it all, he is that light at the end of that dark tunnel you feel stuck in. As I asked before, why should we fear when we know for a fact who is going to protect us? You may be walking through this rubble and dust, you may feel dirty, and unclean from it all. As your walking out of it Jesus is right there ready to clean you off, he just needs you to get up and come closer to him, he needs you to take that step. Take that step even if your uncertain of what’s to come. Don’t be afraid, he’s right there waiting for you to come to him with open arms. God knew what he was doing when he placed this Global Pandemic on his people. He’s here to shake up your “normal”, and change your perspective on life. Everything on this planet is temporary, and as we see today, it can be taken away in a heartbeat. Here’s a crazy idea: we were all so focused on what we had to do on a daily basis, that we forgot to praise the one who gave us this hectic and busy life in the first place. Life is valuable, every day is a new day, it is full of our firsts and lasts. Let’s use our imagination for a second, let’s say our emotions are all different paint colors.  Each day we wake up with a blank canvas, and we get to choose the colors we paint on there. Are we going to paint it using one color? or are we going to give all of the other colors a chance? Are we going to let that one moment that made us cry, and feel heartbroken paint our whole canvas? or are we going to take advantage of the moments that made us laugh and include that as well? We are our own artists, we create a canvas that tells a story. Do not let one glimpse of your day paint your canvas. Do not give in to the thoughts of fear, God isn’t going anywhere, he is walking along this journey with us. He is right there beside you.

Update on my trip:

Adventures of missions are watching out every day and monitoring covid-19. My trip has been pushed back by a couple of weeks and training camp is now in September. We still have 5 months until launch, anything can happen between now and then. I do not fear because I know God has a plan for me. If you would like to be apart of helping me fundraise $16,000 you can simply donate to me on this website right here, or I take Venmo or cash app. Thank you all for the endless support, it means the world to me.
